Tunisia’s Sahara desert, known as Tatooine in the ‘Star Wars’ saga, has been a desirable destination for the film series’ fans. For almost a decade the set, which is located northwest of Tozeur city and consists of 20 buildings, encounters high temperatures and huge amounts of wind-blown sand.
Soon the traveling sand dunes will cover the whole movie set in Tunisia. According to CNN, scientists have observed the movement of a large sand dune at a rate of 4cm/day, which is more than in enough to lead to the extinction of the place. So if you want to visit Tatooine, the barren planet of Star Wars, do it soon!
