This online session gives technical background on pre- and post tensioning of concrete bridges modelled and analysed in DIANA. A new approach in DIANA “Stiffness Adaptation Method” for analysing large bridges and other structures will be demonstrated on a long span PSC box girder bridge.
A new approach in DIANA “Stiffness Adaptation Method” for analysing large bridges and other structures will be demonstrated on a long span PSC box girder bridge. This approach bridges the gap between linear and nonlinear analyses by calculating crack patterns, crack width and onset of yielding of reinforcement in an efficient and user-friendly way . The stiffness adaptation analysis performs a sequence of linear analyses in which, the stiffness is locally reduced automatically at very iteration when the stress in the previous iteration was beyond the user-defined ultimate stress-strain curve.
