2024 Best Geosynthetics Papers by IGS Featured

Each year, Geosynthetics International (GI), the official journal of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS), and Geotextiles and Geomembranes (G&G) honor papers that make outstanding contributions to advancing knowledge and practice in the field.

For 2024, both journals selected a single winner and one runner-up:

Geosynthetics International – Volume 31
Editor-in-Chief: Robert J. Bathurst

• Winner: Bathurst, R. J. & Naftchali, F. M. (2024). Probabilistic analysis for the reinforced fill over void problem. Geosynthetics International, 31(6), 835–861.

• Runner-up: Quinteros, V. S. & Fannin, R. J. (2024). Durability of geogrid in a sloped reinforced soil wall after 25 years in service. Geosynthetics International, 31(6), 862–874.

Selections were made by GI’s Editorial Board, with the Editor-in-Chief and Editors excluded from voting.
