#Cengrs salutes 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝘇𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗶, recognized and respected as the 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀, an Austrian engineer whose birth anniversary falls on 2nd October. Born in 1883, Karl Terzaghi’s influence on #civil_engineering and #engineering_geology is incomparable. This year holds great significance since it marks the 100th year of the publication of his seminal work, the classic and iconic book 𝗘𝗿𝗱𝗯𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗸 (German word, translates as 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀) – auf Boden physkalischer Grundlage (of earth construction based on soil physics). The book, published in the German language in 1924 and in English in 1925, openedechnical engineering, making him one of the most influential figures in civil engineering. To honour this master, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is organizing a half-day workshop to celebrate “𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗿𝗱𝗯𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗸” on 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. The workshop will cover the history of geotechnical engineering globally and at IIT Delhi, featuring lectures and a panel discussion. It is a matter of great honour that Mr. Ravi Sundaram, Director Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt.
