More than 160 people were killed in a mudslide caused by the collapse of a slice of mountain at a jade mine in northern Myanmar, in one of the worst disasters to hit the industry. Workers had been collecting stones in the mountainous terrain of Hpakant township when they were trapped by the landslide on Thursday morning. Rescue workers, including the fire department and local police, worked throughout the day to pull out bodies under heavy monsoon rain Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube ► http://bit.ly/guardianwiressub Mudslide at Myanmar jade mine kills more than 160 people ► https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jul/02/mudslide-at-myanmar-jade-mine-kills-at-least-50-people Support the Guardian ► https://support.theguardian.com/contribute Today in Focus podcast ► https://ww Show more
