National Highway 2 temporarily shut due to sinking A ‘massive’ road sinking near Phesama on National Highway 2—the viral road link between Kohima and Mao in Manipur—has prompted authorities to close the highway. In a traffic advisory issued on Sunday, the deputy commissioner of Kohima informed that the sinking occurred between Chainage KM 192.050 and KM 192.150 on NH-2. Effective immediately, all heavy vehicles en route to Kohima from Manipur have been directed to stop at Khuzama. Similarly, heavy vehicles travelling south towards Manipur from Dimapur will be stopped at Sechü-Subza.
