Come on, Eileen! 🎉🥳🙌 Excavation of Snowy 2.0's tailrace tunnel is now complete, after TBM Eileen Hudson broke through into our massive power station nearly 1km beneath the Snowy Mountains. This is a massive milestone for the project, as it links Talbingo Reservoir with Snowy 2.0's underground power station caverns. It's been a Herculean effort from Lady Eileen, who broke through into the TBM dismantling chamber in front of an excited crowd, many of whom were responsible for getting her here. This wasn't the only tunnel Lady Eileen has completed. She also excavated our MAT (main access tunnel) before being dismantled and reassembled at Talbingo adit for the excavation of the nearly 6km long tailrace tunnel. We are gaining really solid momentum as we continue to construct, whnewable energy to enter the grid and take the place of coal fired power stations as they begin to retire.
