The objective of the Geo-Video competition is to develop short videos explaining various geotechnical concepts that could be used in classrooms at various levels (elementary school through college) and by the lay person to understand geotechnical principles. "AI and Landslides" is an honorable mention video in the 2026 competition. It was created by Allyson Lee, Jasbeth Perez, and Austin Fimbres from Cal Poly Pomona. Their advisor was Ali Shafiee. The Geo-Institute is a technical society with about 12,000 geotechnical engineers and geologists as members.
