In July 2021, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands were struck by a large flood event. We paid a field visit to the German Ahr Valley with www.geerassociation.org, to investigate the flood damage. This helps to improve flood risk models, and in particular the road damage models I developed throughout my PhD-research.
