G-I Director's Cut Other Geotechnical On Director's Cut, Geo-Institute Director Brad Keelor interviews G-I members about anything and everything. You might hear about their favorite geotechnical project, their favorite music, or their favorite pie. This is the eighth of our special compilation episodes. Director’s Cut has been airing weekly since October 2020. In that time, we've had a lot of Seed Lecturers and people reminiscing about Harry Seed on the show. Today we celebrate Geo-Legend Harry Seed, who was born in Bolton, England on August 19, 1922. You can Google his life story, so I’ll spare you now – I’ll just say that he was truly a Mount Rushmore figure in geotechnical engineering. Shortly after his passing in 1989 at the age of 67, ASCE created the Seed Medal and Lecture, which is now awarded annually and the lve been Harry Seed’s 104th birthday, here’s Director’s Cut, but it’s all Seed Lecturers. Stick around til the end for a couple of people remembering Harry who haven't been Seed Lecturers...yet. SHOW NOTES: - Music in this episode: Sly and the Family Stone - Everyday People.
