TNO DIANA BV is pleased to invite you to its training course on the Finite Element Analysis of Dams with DIANA. This is an in depth course focusing on dam specific analyses such as construction stage, groundwater flow-stress and Young hardening analysis. These, and other analyses covered within the course can be applied to dams under design, assessment, pre and post-construction and extension/strengthening of existing dam structures.
Course description: The course focuses on the application of the finite element method in the analysis of dams. Lectures will illustrate the theory behind each analysis type and will be followed by exercises to provide participants with hands-on experience relevant to the presented theory. At the end of the course, participants will have learned how to perform analysis relevant to most types of dams including: geometrical modelling and meshing, construction phased analysis, young age concrete behaviour, thermo-stress analysis, and pore pressure-stress analysis.
Who should attend: The course is aimed for dam engineers who are familiar with basics of finite element method and want to get more insight in 2D/3D linear and non-linear analyses of dams.
Course tutors: Dr Jean-Claude Bauruelle - TNO DIANA BV
Dr Maziar Partovi - TNO DIANA BV
External Guest Lecturer - TBC
Registration Deadline: 31 October 2014
