The 5th International Conference on Geotechnics for Sustainable Infrastructure Development

GEOTEC HANOI conference series: started from October 2011, the first international conference GEOTEC HANOI 2011 was excellently successful with about 450 attendees from 24 countries. Among the conference highlights were the six keynote-lectures given by the late Prof. Sven Hansbo (Sweden), Prof. Kenji Ishihara and Dr. Hiroshi Yoshida (Japan), Prof. Harry G. Poulos (Australia), Prof. Pieter A. Vermeer (Netherlands), Prof. Alain Guilloux (France). In November 2013, the second conference GEOTEC HANOI 2013 was held with great keynote lectures presented by Prof. Rolf Katzenbach (Germany), Prof. Alain Guilloux (France), Prof. Fumio Tatsuoka (Japan), Prof. Kenichi Soga (UK), and Prof. Helmut Schweiger (Austria), and an honorable lecture given by Prof. Sven Hansbo from Sweden, with 112 papers, 500 attendees from 27 countries. GEOTEC HANOI 2016, held in November 2016, attracted more than 600 attendees from 31 countries and territories, with 135 papers published. At this conference the keynote-lectures were given by Prof. Bengt H. Fellenius (Canada), Prof. Chang-Yu Ou (Taiwan), Prof. Buddhima Indraratna (Australia), Prof. Kazuya Yasuhara (Japan) and Dr. Jamie Standing (U.K). The latest event GEOTEC HANOI 2019 was held in November 2019 with a record of more than 800 participants from 37 countries and territories with 186 papers published by the international publishing Springer. At this conference the keynote-lectures were given by Prof. Harry G. Poulos (Australia), Prof. Adam Bezuijen (Netherlands), Prof. Delwyn G. Fredlund (Canada), Prof. Lidija Zdravkovic (UK), Prof. Mark Randolph (Australia), and Prof. Masaki Kitazume (Japan). The special invited lectures were also given by Prof. Charles Ng, ISSMGE President, and Prof. Eun Chul Shin (Korea) ISSMGE vice president.
